OUR STAFF TEAM

We pride ourselves on our dedicated conscientious team of staff, who are headed by the optimised_NW web 2Nursery Manager & Deputy Manager, supported by Nursery Officers and Nursery Assistants, all of whom offer the children continuity of care through the Keyperson system. This allows the staff to utilise their skills and expertise; enabling them to be responsive to the individual needs of the children in their care, whilst working closely with parents for the benefit of the child. We ensure our staff team are given training to keep up with the ever-changing standards in caring for children. This will include Curriculum Planning, Child Protection, First Aid, and numerous other H&S training as well as education and care.

OUR ROLE

At Northwood Day Nursery we acknowledge the vital role we play in supporting children's learning and believe children should have opportunities to gain first hand optimised_NW web 3experiences and to be given time to develop ideas, skills and concepts through play. We are resourced and organised in such a way as to offer learning opportunities both through the Birth To Three Matters Framework and the Early Learning Goals. We recognise that activities should be offered and never imposed on children. Children's experiences and learning may differ from those anticipated, however all learning either planned or unplanned is still valuable to all children.

PARTNERSHIP WITH PARENTS

We value the importance of parental involvement within the nursery and emphasise the need to maintain a high level of communication. We encourage this through nursery optimised_NW web 5newsletters, fun days, parents' information board and daily feedback. We prepare and share regular written information on children's development with parents.

COMPLIMENTARY EXTRAS

We understand many parents have busy and demanding lives and therefore aim to relieve some of the pressure by providing all of the daily essentials your child may need.  Pampers nappies and wipes are provided as is bedding for children who sleep, (all laundered on the premises).  The older children are provided with some additional extra curricular activities including French and Computer classes from our qualified instructors.
